Is my voice sent to a server?
No. Voxfloy transcribes with a high-accuracy speech model that runs entirely on your device. Audio never leaves your device. The only thing that ever travels is text, and only if you opt in to Cloud AI formatting (Pro). See the Privacy page for the exact details.
Which devices does it support?
Voxfloy is a Universal Purchase across Mac, iPhone, and Apple Watch. macOS 15.0 or later (Apple Silicon and Intel), iOS 18+, and watchOS 10+. Buy once, use everywhere.
Why hold-to-record instead of click-to-toggle?
Push-to-talk is faster and avoids accidental hot-mic moments. You always know when Voxfloy is listening because you're holding the key.
Does it work in any app?
On macOS, yes — Voxfloy simulates Cmd+V at the cursor position, so it pastes into any focused text field (IDEs, browsers, Slack, mail clients, terminals). On iOS and Apple Watch, the transcription is copied to the system clipboard for you to paste anywhere.
Can I change the hotkey?
Yes, in Settings. The macOS default is ⌃⌥V, but you can pick another preset (⇧⌥Space, ⌃⌥R, F5, F6) or turn the global hotkey off entirely. Voxfloy uses Apple's official shortcut API, so it doesn't need the Input Monitoring permission. The picker lives in the main window footer.
How much does it cost?

Pro is a one-time in-app purchase that unlocks unlimited recording, expanded history (1,000 entries), unlimited custom vocabulary, advanced formatting modes (email / bullet list / summary), Cloud AI formatting, cross-device sync, and macOS power features like inline editing in the HUD.
What does the free tier include?
Everything you need to try the product end-to-end: on-device speech recognition, the clean-up formatting mode, the global hotkey on Mac, and the recording UI on iPhone and Apple Watch. The free tier limits each recording to about 2 minutes, keeps your most recent 20 transcriptions in history, and lets you teach Voxfloy up to 10 custom vocabulary terms. Pro removes those limits and unlocks the advanced features above.
